5-star 2025 WR Jaime Ffrench names Miami football in top three

The Miami football program was named in the top three by five-star 2025 Jacksonville Mandarin wide receiver Jaime Ffrench Tuesday. Ffrench named Texas the frontrunner, followed by LSU and Miami. Ffrench de-committed from Alabama in January following Nick Saban's retirement and had previously been trending to Ohio State.

Ffrench took his only unofficial visit to Coral Gables in January 2023 per 247Sports and On3. Miami will host Ffrench for his official visit the weekend of June 7. Ffrench is visiting Miami the same weekend as Miami quarterback commit Luke Nickel. LSU, Tennessee and Texas will also host Ffrench.

Ffrench is taking official visits to LSU the weekend of May 31, Tennessee June 14 and Texas June 21. Texas having the last visit could be an advantage. Although Texas has emerged as the favorite for Ffrench, a lot can change between now and the Early National Signing Period in December.

Ffrench is one of several 2025 WRs visiting Miami the weekend of June 7. Four-star Oregon WR commit Dallas Wilson and three-star prospects Joshua Moore and Daylyn Upshaw will also be in Coral Gables that weekend. Ffrench is the fourth-ranked WR in the 2025 class and Wilson is ninth.

Miami is looking to add a big WR class. Miami currently has a commitment from four-star Palm Beach Central prospect Waden Charles at WR. Charles is being pushed hard to flip by several other programs. Ffrench would be by far the highest-ranked commitment to Miami in the 2025 class.

Texas has a 40.7 percent chance for a commitment from Ffrench per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The other projections from On3 do not match up with the top three for Ffrench. Alabama is projected as the second favorite for a Ffrench commitment at 24.5 percent and Ohio State is third at 20.7 percent.

Expect the projections for where Ffrench will commit and the three 247Sports crystal balls to change after he takes his official visits in the next month. Ffrench told On3 that Miami WR coach Kevin Beard is the primary reason he is interested in the Hurricanes. Beard helped Miami sign an elite 2024 WR class.
