On3 stated Alford "measured in at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds with a freakish 6-foot-10 wingspan." Andrew Ivins of 247Sports projects Alford as a multi-year starter and possible power conference impact player.

"Miami’s the crib, man. My dad grew up a fan, my whole family grew up a fan. It’s just different putting on for your home town, having your whole family there supporting you. Just knowing that they’ve all got your back. Throwing up that U, it’s a different meaning to it than other things.”"

Even if Alford commits to Ohio State as projected, expect Mario Cristobal, Guidry and Nicholson to continue strongly pursuing Alford. Under Cristobal, Miami has had success flipping players late in the cycle, particularly from Ohio State. Defensive lineman Justin Scott and running backs Mark Fletcher and Jordan Lyle have flipped to Miami from Ohio State late in the last two recruiting classes.
