Miami is back to playing at a reasonable hour with a noon kickoff time on ABC for their October 19 game at Louisville. The Louisville loss to SMU on Saturday probably ended the chance for the game to be in more of a premiere slot. Notre Dame at Georgia Tech is on ABC at 3:30 PM and SMU at Stanford is on The ACC Network at 8 PM ET.
This is the first noon kickoff time for Miami in 2024. Miami previously had 3:30 PM kickoff times at Florida in the August 31 season opener and versus Ball State on September 24. Miami has played four primetime games including the 10:30 PM kickoff at California on Saturday.
Miami leads the all-time series with Louisville 11-4-1. Louisville beat Miami 38-31 in 2023. Miami won 47-34 in the last game Louisville in 2020. Miami is 5-2 in Louisville. The 2020 win for Miami ended a two-game Miami losing streak in Louisville. Louisville lost 31-24 at Notre Dame on September 28 in its only game versus a ranked team in 2024.
Louisville hosts Virginia on Saturday. The Cardinals were ranked 22nd before dropping out of the rankings after the loss to SMU. Clemson, Pittsburgh and SMU are the other ACC teams in the rankings this week. Miami does not play Clemson, Pittsburgh, or SMU during the 2024 regular season. Miami has a bye this week.
All of the ACC week eight ACC games have set times. No games were put on a six-day hold that allows the networks flexibility to schedule important games. Miami's games versus Duke on November 2 and at Syracuse on November 30 in the regular season finale are games to watch to potentially be played in prime time.
None of the teams remaining on the 2024 Miami schedule are currently ranked. Syracuse received votes in the week seven polls from the Associated Press and AFCA Coaches poll. Duke and Manny Diaz did not receive any votes in the week eight polls after losing at Georgia Tech but are 5-1.
