The Miami basketball team returns to ACC play on Wednesday night hosting Clemson. Miami began ACC play with a win over Notre Dame last month. Clemson won its only ACC game this season last month versus Pittsburgh. The Tigers enter the game on Wednesday, ranked 16th in both polls.

Miami has won the last three games versus Clemson. The Tigers won three in a row before the Hurricanes' game-winning streak in the series. Miami was picked second in the ACC in the preseason poll. Clemson was picked fifth in the ACC preseason poll by conference media.

Clemson and Miami currently have the best records in the ACC. Clemson is 11-1 with their only loss at Memphis. The Tigers have arguably the best win in the ACC this season at Alabama in the ACC/SEC challenge. Miami enters the game versus Clemson with a 10-2 record. Miami was blown out at Kentucky and versus Colorado at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn.

Head coach Jim Larranaga stated the status of starting guard Nijel Pack is uncertain and leading scorer Wooga Poplar is day to day per Christy Chirinos of MiamiHurricanes.Com. Kyshawn George has started the last two games with Pack out. Christian Watson would likely start in place of Poplar.

Chase Hunter is the third double figure scorer for Clemson averaging 11.0 PPG.

Clemson is a huge test for Miami when healthy. North Carolina is the only team in the ACC ranked higher than Clemson. Without Pack and potentially Poplar, Miami is going to need big games from Matthew Cleveland and Norchad Omier. George has the potential for a big game.

Miami will play its first ACC road game this season on Saturday at Wake Forest after hosting Clemson. Wake Forest won on Tuesday night at Boston College. The Demon Deacons are 10-3, have an eight-game winning streak and lead the ACC with a 2-0 record.
