Camdin is the 198th ranked prospect, 18th CB and 12th player in North Carolina in the 2026 class. Chaz does not yet have a ranking. Camdin has offers from over 20 programs including Miami. Per his 247Sports profile, FCS Howard and Jacksonville State are the only programs that have offered Chaz.

Miami has commitments from four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell and three-star quarterback Dereon Coleman in the 2026 class. Four-star wide receiver Malachi Toney from American Heritage reclassified from the 2026 class to 2025 on Tuesday. Campbell and Coleman form the 11th ranked 2026 class nationally.

Cornerback has been a point of emphasis for Miami in the 2025 class. Miami has commitments for the 2025 class from four-star CBs Jaboree Antoine, Amari Wallace and Chris Ewald and three-star Timothy Merritt. Miami loses defensive backs Darryl Porter Jr. and Mishael Powell off of their 2024 roster.

Marshall transfer Dyoni Hill and junior Jadais Richard are the only defensive backs on the Miami roster with only two years of eligibility remaining. Several other Miami DBs, including starting CB Damari Brown will be eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft. Miami signed eight defensive backs in 2024 including transfers.

Freshman CB O.J. Frederique and safety Zaquan Patterson have received significant playing time through the first three games. Frederique and Patterson playing early in their collegiate careers and being a legacy should be encouraging for Portis to have a path to success at Miami.
