10/5: Miami @ Cal

The 3-1 Golden Bears could pose a threat to the Hurricanes, who will need to fly across the country and play a 10:30 p.m. ET game on October 5. The game will also be nationally televised on ESPN. Cal started the year 3-0 with wins against UC Davis and San Diego State, as well as an impressive road win against Auburn.

They faltered in Tallahassee in their most recent game, however, against the winless Florida State Seminoles in a 14-9 loss. While Miami's current focus is on Virginia Tech, Cal has a bye, so they are already starting to materialize their gameplan against the Hurricanes.

Their quarterback Fernando Mendoza, a Christopher Columbus High School product, has impressed in the early going this year, while star running back Jaydn Ott has been surprisingly quiet.

Even if the Hurricanes experience jet lag on their trip, they should have no problem putting away the Golden Bears, who look much better than they have in recent years but are not in the same league as Miami. The FPI gives Miami slightly better than a 75% chance to win.
