10/26: Miami vs. Florida State

Miami has not beaten Florida State since a 52-10 drubbing in 2020. In the subsequent years, Miami has lost close games in 2021 (31-28) and 2023 (27-20) and a blowout (45-3) in 2022. With Hurricanes fans looking to forget about the past three years, they'll love hearing that Miami should not only beat Florida State this year, it shouldn't even be a fair fight.

A year after Florida State went undefeated in the regular season and was notoriously snubbed from the playoffs, they started this year with three straight losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Memphis before defeating Cal.

In their four games, the Seminoles are somehow averaging just 15.0 points per game on offense. DJ Uiagalelei is averaging just over 200 yards per game and has more interceptions than touchdowns. Once considered a can't-miss five-star prospect, the two-time transfer looks lost with the ball in his hands more often than not.

FSU's run game hasn't been good either. Lawrance Toafili and Roydell Williams, the Alabama transfer, have combined for just 201 yards in four games and are barely averaging 4.0 yards per carry between the two.

Even the Seminoles' defensive line, before the season considered one of the best groups in the country, has underperformed expectations. Patrick Payton might be the only one living up to his reputation, as he already has four sacks on the year.

With a raucous and excited crowd expected at Hard Rock Stadium, the Hurricanes should easily handle business against their bitter rival. ESPN has Miami as a heavy favorite, with a 90.2 percent chance to win, matching their chances against Virginia Tech.
