Miami Paris Olympians in Track and Field
Alysha Newman is competing in her third Olympics. Newman competed for Miami from 2013 through 2016. Newman finished 17th in Rio De Janeiro in the 2016 Olympics but did not complete a pole vault in Tokyo in 2021. In 2018 Newman won a gold and in 2014 a bronze and the Commonwealth Games
Robinson qualified for the Olympics by finishing second with a triple jump of 55 feet, 9.75 inches. Robinson impressively began his Miami career as a walk-on before earning a scholarship per the Herald. Throughout his career, Robinson has been named All-ACC and All-American multiple times.
Miami basketball Olympians
Page is entering her first season as a Miami basketball assistant coach. Page was hired by first-year Miami head coach Tricia Cullop. Canada hired Page as an assistant coach in 2023. Page was the third overall pick in the inaugural WNBA Draft in 1998 by the Washington Mystics.
Reed played at Miami from 2013 through 2017. After concluding his Miami career, Reed has played for four NBA teams. In four games at the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament Reed averaged 4.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals for Puerto Rico.
Women's individual diving begins on August 5 and men's commence on August 6. The triple jump begins on August 7. Pole vault preliminaries start on August 3. The Puerto Rican men's basketball team begins pool play on July 28 at 5:00 AM Eastern time versus South Sudan.
The Canadian women's basketball team begins pool play on July 29 at 11:15 ET versus France. Dominican Republic women's volleyball plays its first Paris Olympics game versus Italy at 3 AM ET versus Italy on July 28. Miami has an impressive group of Olympians competing in Paris.
