The Miami football program hosted six edge rushers in June. Three-star prospect Herbert Scroggins was the first edge rusher to commit to Miami on Friday. Miami also hosted five-star edge rusher Iose Epenesa, four-stars Javeon Campbell, Zion Grady, Hayden Lowe and three-star Tylon Lee for official visits in June.

Scroggins is the 407th prospect, 29th edge rusher and 46th player in Georgia in the 2025 class. Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Miami hosted Scroggins for official visits in June. Miami moved up to the 15th-ranked 2025 class following the commitment from Scroggins.

Epenesa would be one of the biggest gets for Miami in the 2025 class. Iowa and Missouri are the primary competition for Miami in the recruitment of Epenesa. Iowa is listed as the favorite for a commitment from the Hawkeyes' legacy with a 32.3 percent chance for a commitment per On3.

Miami is listed as the second favorite for Epenesa at 20.3 percent, Missouri is third at 14.3 percent and Penn State is fourth at 8,8 percent. Penn State, Missouri, Iowa, Utah and Miami hosted Epenesa for official visits in June in that order. Epenesa is the 46th prospect, sixth edge rusher and second player in Illinois in the 2025 class.

Campbell, Grady and Lowe all took their official visits to Miami the weekend of May 31. Since their visits, Campbell remains uncommitted, Grady committed to Ohio State and Lowe committed to USC. All three took multiple official visits during June. Miami has precedence for flipping defensive linemen late in the recruiting cycle.

Edge rusher Elias Rudolph flipped from Michigan and defensive tackle Justin Scott from Ohio State to Miami in the 2024 class. With Jason Taylor and Joe Salave'a as the Miami defensive line coaches, the Hurricanes will likely continue to be active in recruiting all the edge rushers in the 2025 class.

Campbell took official visits to Miami, Kentucky, Auburn, Alabama and Georgia. Kentucky is the prohibitive favorite for a commitment from Campbell with a 64.8 percent chance per On3. Alabama is second at 29.3 percent. Every other program has less than a 2.0 percent chance for a commitment for Campbell per On3.

Grady took official visits to Miami, Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee and Ohio State. The Buckeyes received a commitment from Grady on June 24 following his official visit to Columbus the previous weekend. Grady is the 66th prospect, sixth edge rusher and sixth player in Alabama in the 2025 class.

Lowe took seven official visits before committing to USC on June 21. Lowe is the 242nd prospect, 19th edge rusher and 23rd player in California out of Westlake Village Oaks Christian. Greg Biggins of 247 Sports said Lowe has a "has a prototype 6-4, 240-pound frame,"

Lee has taken official visits to Central Florida, Arkansas, Kansas and Miami. No 247Sports crystal balls have been logged for Lee. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Miami with a 36.2 percent chance for a Lee commitment, Mississippi at 16.2 percent, Florida at 13.9 percent and Florida State at 6.1 percent.

Miami was credited for signing the best defensive line class in 2024. With the depth Miami added in the 2024 class, they can focus on other positions more in the 2025 class. Scroggins is a good starter. Expect one or two more edge rushers for Miami in the 2025 class.
