Ward is currently on pace to finish the 12-game regular season with over 4,000 yards, 44 TD and just four interceptions. Those numbers would almost certainly make him a Heisman Trophy finalist, if not the clear favorite to win the award.

The decision to allow Ward to air it out this year will not only have him up for several awards and have Miami in contention for its first-ever ACC championship and College Football Playoff berth. But it could actually set Miami up to be a quarterback hotspot for years to come.

Ward's success leading one of the country's most prolific offenses for one of the greatest brands in all of college football will almost certainly catch the eye of many quarterback recruits and potential transfers. Rather than selling quarterbacks "what could be," they can now sell quarterbacks with concrete proof of the kind of operation they could lead.

Whether it's Emory Williams, Reese Poffenbarger, or another transfer quarterback at the helm in 2025, gone are the days of Malik Rosier, Jarren Williams, N'Kosi Perry, and all the other underwhelming quarterbacks in Miami's recent past. Shannon Dawson and Cam Ward are putting Miami back on the map and they're here to stay.
