C.J. Clark adds an experienced DL with a proven history of production. In five seasons at North Carolina State, Clark had 72 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and four sacks in 42 games. Clark played 25 games in the last two seasons. Clark missed all but three games in 2021 with a knee injury. Clark played 12 games in 2020.

Clark was the 194th-ranked prospect, 16th DT and fourth player in North Carolina out of New London, North Stanly High School when he signed with NC State in 2019. The 247 Sports rankings list Clark as the 162nd-best transfer and 13th DL. Clark is projected to take Taylor's place at DT.

Clark had 22 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and three QB hurries in 2023. Taylor had 19 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, one sack and one QBH in 2023. Clark is not as talented as Taylor but should provide Miami with more consistency. Clark is an experienced player with 23 career starts.

Miami also added former Middle Tennessee State DT Marley Cook to its 2024 roster. Clark and Jared Harrison-Hunte are the projected first-team DTs for Miami in 2024. Five-star 2024 signees Armondo Blount and Justin Scott should challenge for snaps at DT in 2024.
