Hot week recruiting moves Miami football into top 10 2025 class

Three four-star commitments this week have moved the Miami football program into the top 10 2025 classes nationally.

Commitments from linebacker Gavin Nix, safety Hylton Stubbs and center Seuseu Alofaituli moved the 2025 Miami football class into the top 10. Alofaituli, Nix and Stubbs are all four-star prospects in the 2025 class ranked in the top 100 by 247Sports and the three highest-ranked commits to Miami.

Nix continued a hot streak for Miami in June by being the first July commitment for the Hurricanes on Monday. Nix is the 88th-ranked prospect, 11th LB and 15th player in Florida in the 2025 247Sports rankings. Miami continued a pipeline to IMG Academy in Bradenton. Nix is the third LB 2025 LB committed to Miami.

Stubbs is ranked 99th overall, the 10th safety and 17th player in Florida out of Jacksonville Mandarin by 247Sports in the 2025 class. Miami received a commitment from Stubbs after he de-committed from USC on June 27. Stubbs joined four-star safety Amari Wallace who committed to Miami on June 27.

Alofaituli is the 55th prospect, second interior offensive lineman and second player in Nevada in the 2025 class out of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. Miami moved up to the 11th-ranked class nationally following the commitment from Stubbs on Thursday. The commitment from Alofaituli moved Miami up to eighth.

Alofaituli was the 17th commit in the 2025 Miami class and fourth blue-chip prospect. Miami is still waiting to secure a commitment from a five-star prospect in the 2025 class. Eleven of the 2025 Miami commits are from Florida and four are from South Florida.

This week has moved the 2025 Miami class to the top of the ACC. Miami also leads the ACC with the 12 blue-chip commitments. Clemson has the second-ranked class in the ACC and is also tied for second with Florida State with commitments from nine four-star prospects. Florida State has the only five-star commit in the ACC.

Miami is trying to close with its third consecutive top 10 class. The Hurricanes signed the seventh-best 2023 class and were fourth in the 2024 rankings. Miami has signed five five-star players in the last two classes. How Miami plays during the 2024 season is likely to determine how many 2025 five-star prospects the Hurricanes sign.
