During an appearance on the College Football Addiction podcast, Jeremy Wahman of the Cardinal Sports report stated that Miami football transfer addition Tyler Baron was kicked from Louisville due to bragging about his NIL deals.

Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm has not stated anything publicly about Baron or other transfers departing Louisville this spring. Baron transferred to Louisville after previously playing at Tennessee and committed to Mississippi early in the 2024 transfer portal cycle.

Cornerback Wesley Walker (Baron's step-brother) transferred to Michigan and running back Peny Boone left Louisville for Central Florida following the spring portal cycle. Wahman discussed the departures of Baron, Boone and Walker after being asked about Louisville's NIL situation.

Baron, Boone and Walker have been labeled as troublemakers for Louisville. Brohm led the Cardinals to the ACC Championship game in his first season in 2023. Mario Cristobal and his team were likely thorough during their recruitment of Baron after he left Louisville.

"Coach (Jeff) Brohm kicked them all (Baron and others) off the team because they were starting trouble in the locker room, telling everybody 'oh I'm making this much, you should tell your guys to get you this much'. So it was a situation where you had some troublemakers in the locker room. Coach Brohm found out about it [and] he gave them the boot.""

Other rumors spread online about Baron, Boone and Walker's departures from Louisville. Boone played at Maryland and Kent State before transferring to Louisville. Walker played for Georgia Tech and Tennessee before his short stop at Louisville.

Wahman also dispelled a rumor that NIL checks from Louisville bounced. Baron, Boone and Walker are all players who have performed at a high level in college. Baron had 101 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, four passes defended, one forced fumble and one pass breakup in four seasons at Tennessee.
