The Miami basketball team travels to Notre Dame hoping to end a two game losing streak after a buzzer beating loss to Syracuse on Saturday.

The Miami basketball team will go for the season sweep when it plays at Notre Dame on Wednesday night. Miami beat Notre Dame 62-49 in the ACC season opener on December 2. Miami enters the game on Wednesday with a two game losing streak and defeat in four of their last five games.

Notre Dame enters the game on Wednesday night with a 7-11 overall record and 2-5 in the ACC. The Fighting Irish are in 14th in the ACC, one game ahead of last place Louisville. The Cardinals' only ACC win this season was over Miami. Notre Dame also has a two-game losing streak and defeats in four of its last five games.

Norchad Omier is expected to be a game-time decision. Miami was without Omier in the loss to Syracuse on Saturday. Notre Dame appears to be healthy for Wednesday night. Boston College defeated Notre Dame 63-59 on January 15. The Fighting Irish have been off since playing the Eagles.

Miami needs to play better defensively. Since the calendar flipped to 2024, Miami has allowed at least 70 points in every game. Notre Dame is 355th nationally, averaging 62.8 points per game and 39th allowing 65.1 PPG. Notre Dame was dictated tempo when the teams played in Coral Gables last month.

Miami and Notre Dame enter the game on Wednesday, covering the point spread in only one of their last five games. The ESPN Basketball Power Index Power Index projects Miami with a 70.3 percent chance of beating Notre Dame.

The total is the lowest for a Miami game this season. When they played last month, Miami and Notre Dame had a 143.0 over/under. Based on the game in December, it's safe to bet the under. Miami on the moneyline is a safer bet than the point spread. Miami needs a win and is more talented than Notre Dame.

Miami has to start winning the games they are favored in. Florida State and Louisville earned upset wins at Miami. Miami faces a daunting February. The Hurricanes must pull some upsets in February to earn a third consecutive NCAA Tournament bid. That has happened only once in program history.
