Miami football 2024 schedule has three ACC games of the week
Steven Lassan of Athlon Sports named three Miami football games in his "ACC Football: Predicting the Best Game Every Week in the 2024 Season."
The focus on the 2024 Miami football schedule during the offseason has been on the opener at Florida on August 31. Steven Lassan of Athlon Sports named Clemson versus Georgia in Atlanta as his week one "ACC Football: Predicting the Best Game Every Week in the 2024 Season."
Miami will conclude their non-conference schedule by hosting Florida A&M and Ball State before playing at South Florida. The first 2024 Miami football game named an ACC Game of the Week by Lassan is versus Virginia Tech on September 27. Miami and Virginia Tech did not play last season for the first time since 1990.
After Virginia Tech, Miami will play at California in an ACC game for the first time on October 5. Miami has a bye week before traveling to Louisville on October 19 and hosting Florida State on October 26. The games versus the Cardinals and Seminoles are the second and third Miami ACC Games of the Week named by Lassan.
Miami lost 27-20 at Florida State and 38-31 versus Louisville in consecutive weeks in 2023. The Hurricanes face the daunting task of playing the Cardinals and Seminoles on consecutive weeks again in 2024. Miami's outcomes versus FSU and Louisville will have a major impact on the trajectory of their 2024 season.

Miami versus Virginia Tech will be played on a Friday night. The Hurricanes and Hokies will have the attention of college football as the only Friday night game in week five. Miami will try to get off to a good start in the ACC after losing their first two conference games versus Georgia Tech and North Carolina in 2023.

This showdown is also a battle between two of college football's top transfers at quarterback (Cameron Ward, Miami and Tyler Shough, Louisville) for '24."
Miami leads the all-time series with Louisville 11-4-1. The win by Louisville ended a two-game Miami win streak in the series. Miami won nine of its first 10 games versus Louisville with one tie. Louisville and Miami each won two games in the series since the Cardinals joined the ACC in 2014.

Florida State is trending up under coach Mike Norvell, while Miami hopes to do what the 'Noles did last season with a trip to the ACC title game. Florida State has won three in a row in this series, including a 45-3 blowout in '22 in Hard Rock Stadium."
The Miami-Florida State series has been one of streaks over the last 15 years. Miami won four in a row versus Florida State after ending a seven-game losing streak versus the Seminoles in 2017. Florida State has won their last four games versus Miami. Mario Cristobal is seeking his first win versus FSU as Miami's head coach.

The 2024 season is critical for Mario Cristobal, who has a 12-13 record in his first two years with Miami. Virginia Tech, Louisville and Florida State are projected to be the biggest games the Hurricanes play in the ACC in 2023. Miami likely has to win two of those three games to earn an ACC Championship game berth.
