Miami football: 2024 signees who will have the biggest impact as freshmen
Other than the DL, wide receiver is the best position unit in the 2024 Miami class. Ny Carr, Joshisa Trader and Chance Robinson each have a chance to make an impact as a true freshman in 2024. With their top two receivers, Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George, expected to return in 2024, one of the freshmen WRs has to separate themselves.
In his press conference on Wednesday, Cristobal said of Carr, " He's a rocket ship, extremely fast and explosive. Another guy that the ball is in the air, he's going to be the one to find a way to get it. A competitor." Carr can play inside and outside receiver and has been praised for his route running by Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports.
Trader was trending as a five-star prospect for a significant portion of his recruitment. At 6'1 and 175 already provides good length. Ivins praised Trader as "a big play waiting to happen" and an excellent tracker of the football. Trader projects as a slot receiver in a pro-style offense per Ivins. At Miami Trader could play inside or outside.
Robinson was one of the first commits in the 2024 class when he committed to Miami at the Spring game in April. The scouting report from Ivins praised Robinson as a willing blocker with strong hands who works best on the outside. Robinson is lower rated than Carr and Trader but further developed physically.
After signing the third-best 2024 Class, Cristobal needs to develop this group to have several impact players. Some of the players will make an impact as freshmen. The players listed will have a chance to step into roles as freshmen. Miami needs to develop depth at DL, safety and WR during the 2024 offseason.
