Devin Hester and Andre Johnson will become the 10th and 11th Miami football alums inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer. Miami moves into a third-place tie with Michigan for the most alums in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Notre Dame and USC have the most inductees, with 14 each.

Johnson laid the foundation for his success in the NFL with an All-American career at Miami. As part of the dominant Miami teams from 2000 through 2002, Johnson shared the Most Valuable Player of the 2002 Rose Bowl with quarterback Ken Dorsey as Miami beat Nebraska 37-14 for the National Championship.

Johnson had seven receptions for 199 yards and two touchdowns in the Miami demolition of Nebraska. In his Miami career, Johnson finished with 92 receptions, 11th in program history with 1,831 yards and tied for fourth with 20 TD receptions. With 1,092 receiving yards in 2002, Johnson is tied for fifth all-time in Miami history.

Following his Miami football career, Johnson was the third pick in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. Johnson had 66 receptions for 976 yards and four touchdowns, with three 100-yard games as Houston finished 5-11. Following the 2003 season, Johnson was named All-Rookie.

Johnson made the first of his seven Pro Bowl appearances (when it still meant something) in 2004 with 79 receptions for 1,142 yards and six TDs as Houston improved to 7-9. In 2006, Johnson was named All-NFL for the first time with 103 receptions to lead the NFL for 1,147 yards and five TDs, earning second-team All-Pro.

Johnson earned first-team All-Pro for the first time in 2008 with 115 receptions for 1,575 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Johnson finished his career with 1,062 receptions for 14,185 receiving yards and 70 touchdowns. Three times in his career, Johnson led the NFL in receiving yards per game.

Johnson finished his career a two-time first-team All-Pro, a two-time second-team All-Pro and was named to seven Pro Bowls. With Michael Irvin's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007, Johnson becomes the second Miami wide receiver who will be enshrined in Canton.
