Deon Bush of the Kansas City Chiefs and Jon Feliciano of the San Francisco 49ers are the sole Miami football alums participating in Super Bowl LVIII. Bush will make his second Super Bowl appearance after playing with Kansas City last year. In his ninth season in the NFL, Feliciano is making his first Super Bowl appearance.

Bush was a four-star signee in the 2012 Miami football Class. The 247Sports composite ranked Bush as the 129th signee, 10th safety and 22nd prospect out of Miami Columbus. Bush earned second-team All-American as a freshman with 34 tackles, one tackle for loss, three passes defended and three forced fumbles.

After 10 starts as a freshman in 2010, Bush started six as a sophomore with 31 tackles, two TFLs, one sack, one pass defended, one interception and one forced fumble. Bush had his best season as a junior with 53 tackles, four TFLs, two sacks, two interceptions, three passes defended, one fumble recovery and five forced fumbles.

As a senior, Bush had 34 tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception, six passes defense and two fumble recoveries. Bush earned All-ACC for the first time as a senior in 2015, being named to the third-team. The Chicago Bears drafted Bush in the fourth round with 124th overall of the 2016 NFL draft.

Feliciano was the 729th ranked prospect, 54th offensive tackle and 99th player in Florida out of Fort Lauderdale Western as a three-star recruit in the 2010 class. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2010, Feliciano was a perennial starter for the next four seasons. Feliciano started 44 games in four seasons after redshirting.

The ACC named Feliciano honorable mention All-Conference in 2013. The Oakland Raiders selected Feliciano in the fourth round, 128th overall of the 2015 NFL Draft. Feliciano spent four seasons in Oakland, three with the Buffalo Bills and last season with the New York Giants before signing with the 49ers during the 2023 offseason.

Bush and Feliciano have had different paths to the NFL. Bush was higher ranked coming out of high school. Both were key contributors at Miami before each were fourth round picks in the NFL Draft. On Sunday, Bush and Feliciano will live out every football player's dream in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
