Several top prospects who are strongly considering the Miami football program will be making their commitment announcements in the next week. Miami currently has the ninth-ranked 2025 class. That includes their most recent commitment from four-star wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw on Saturday.
Miami currently has 18 commits in its 2025 class. Per the 247Sports rankings, Miami has eight four-star commits and 10 who are three-star. The 247Sports composite rankings give Miami more four-star commits. Four-star center Seuseu Alofaituli is the highest-ranked 2025 Miami commit per the 247Sports rankings.
Five-star cornerback D.J. Pickett, three-star defensive lineman Jarquez Carter, four-star CB Jaboree Antoine, four-star interior offensive lineman Cortez Smith, three-star DL Floyd Boucard and four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III are making their commitment announcements between Wednesday and July 21.
Pickett will make his commitment announcement on Wednesday. Miami signed Pickett's cousin Booker Jr., an edge rusher in the 2024 class. Oregon has been reported to be the main competition. Antoine and Carter are the two who Miami is the favorite to receive a commitment from heading into their announcements.
A commitment from Pickett would move Miami up to the seventh-ranked 2025 class. There are not currently any 247Sports crystal balls logged for which program Pickett could choose. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Oregon with a 77.8 percent chance for a Pickett commitment.
Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U logged the only crystal ball for Carter to Miami. Florida has a 67.9 percent chance for a Carter commitment and other reports have stated Ohio State as the main challenger to Miami. Without a commitment from an interior DL in the 2025 class, Carter is a key prospect for Miami.
Miami is reportedly the leader from Antoine after he de-committed from LSU last month. Miami is building a special class in the secondary. Antoine would give Miami two blue-chip CBs in the 2025 class. Miami has commitments at CB from four-star Chris Ewald and three-star Timothy Merritt.
Miami is a long shot for a commitment from Smith. Three crystal balls are projecting Smith to commit to Georgia. The On3 RPM projects Georgia with a 93.7 percent chance for a commitment from Smith. Miami has commitments on the IOL from Alofaituli, Max Buchanan and Takaylen Muex in the 2025 class.
The only crystal ball logged for Boucard is to USC by 247Sports national recruiting analyst Tom Loy. The On3 RPM projects USC with an 88.1 chance for a Boucard commitment. Boucard plays for Miami Central but is originally from Montreal.
Four of the five crystal balls and the most recent project Brown to commit to Florida. The On3 RPM projects Florida with an 87.8 percent chance for a commitment from Brown. Brown is an extremely high four-star prospect as the 36th-ranked player nationally.
Miami seems to be in a good position for Antoine and potentially Carter. Pickett is reportedly leaning to Oregon, but it would not be surprising if he commits to Miami. The 2025 Miami class is trending upwards. Miami has received 12 commitments since June 8.
