Miami football continues pipeline with Las Vegas Bishop Gorman
The Miami football program received a commitment from a Las Vegas Bishop Gorman prospect for the second consecutive year on Friday. Four-star center Seuseu Alofaituli will join 2024 Miami signee, tight end Elija Lofton on the Hurricanes roster in 2025. Miami has had a pipeline to Bishop Gorman that predates Mario Cristobal as Miami's head coach.
Four-star edge rusher Cyrus Moss was the first player during the Mario Cristobal era with Miami to sign with the Hurricanes from Bishop Gorman. Before Moss, Miami signed four-star tight end Brevin Jordan in the 2018 class under Mark Richt. Jordan was the first recent Bishop Gorman player to sign with Miami.
Quarterback Tate Martell and safety Bubba Bolden joined Jordan as transfers who went to high school at Bishop Gorman. Martell transferred to Miami from Ohio State and Bolden from USC. Bolden and Jordan had far greater impacts on the Miami football program than Martell who was a huge bust.
Jordan finished his Miami career fifth among tight ends with 105 receptions and 1,358 receiving yards in three seasons. Jordan was named All-ACC during all three of his seasons with Miami. The 247Sports rankings had Jordan as the 72nd prospect, second TE and fourth player in Nevada in the 2018 class.
Bolden dealt with injuries throughout his Miami career but was a 2020 Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist
and second-team All-ACC that season. Bolden had 127 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, 2.0 interceptions, six pass breakups and five forced fumbles in three seasons with Miami.
Martell transferred from Miami after spending the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the Hurricanes. Martell completed his only attempt with Miami in the 2019 Independence Bowl loss to Louisiana Tech. In seven appearances over two seasons with Miami, Martell also had seven carries for seven yards.
Moss was the 70th prospect, the eighth edge rusher and the second player in Nevada in the 2022 class. In two seasons with Miami Moss had one tackle in five appearances. At 6'5 and 215 pounds, Moss was never able to add the muscle mass he needed to get on the field with Miami.
Lofton was the 274th-ranked signee, 16th TE and the top prospect in Nevada in the 2025 class. Lofton was impressive this spring as a versatile prospect. During spring practice Miami lined Lofton up at TE, H-Back and running back. Expect Miami offensive coordinator
Alofaituli became the latest Bishop Gorman prospect to commit to Miami on Friday. The 247Sports Composite Rankings have Alofaituli as the 77th-ranked prospect, second IOL and second player in Nevada in the 2025 class. Alofaituli is projected as the future center for Miami.
