Miami football gets commitment third straight day, from S Amari Wallace

Four-star safety Amari Wallace gave the Miami football program a commitment in the 2025 class for the third straight day.

Four-star safety Amari Wallace is the third commitment to the Miami football program in as many days. Wallace announced his commitment on Thursday night with a post to X. Miami received commitments from three-star offensive linemen Demetrius Campbell and Jaden Wilkerson on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The 2025 Miami class continues to move up the rankings. Miami vaulted from the forties to 31st in the 247Sports composite rankings with the commitment from Wallace. Miami's 2025 class is 19th in the On3 Industry Rankings. Miami has received two of the four commitments projected by Steve Wiltfong of On3 on Wednesday.

Wiltfong projected cornerback Chris Ewald, defensive lineman Derry Norris, Wallace and Wilkerson would commit to Miami. Ewald is taking his official visit to Georgia this weekend. Following the visit to Athens, Ewald will announce a commitment to Georgia or Miami on June 27. Miami is the prohibitive favorite for an Ewald commitment.

Norris has not announced a commitment date. Miami is also the prohibitive favorite for a commitment from Norris. Miami does not have a commitment from a DL in the 2025 class. Wallace is the second defensive back committed to Miami in 2025. Miami previously received a commitment from CB Timothy Merritt.

Wallace is the 278th prospect. 24th safety and 40th player in Florida out of Miami Central in the 2025 class. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports called Wallace a half-field safety with tons of range who has made plays throughout high school. Wallace is the third-highest-ranked commit in the 2025 Miami class.

Tight end Brock Schott and running back Girard Pringle Jr. are the only 2025 Miami commits ranked ahead of Wallace. The three 2025 defensive commits for Miami are linebacker Elijah Melendez, Merritt and Wallace. More commitments, particularly on defense are expected in the next few weeks, led by Ewald.
