Adam Gorney, the Rivals.com National Recruiting Director, listed two visitors to the Miami football program this weekend in his column "Rivals recruiting buzz: Ten most intriguing visits this weekend."Cornerback Chris Ewald and D.J Pickett visiting Miami intrigue Gorney.

Ewald is the 24th-best prospect, sixth in Florida out of Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna and the third-best 2025 CB in the Rivals rankings. Pickett is the eighth-ranked prospect, top safety and top-ranked player in Florida in 2025. Pickett is the cousin of 2024 four-star Miami signee Booker Pickett Jr.

Miami has commitments from linebacker Elijah Melendez, quarterback Luke Nickel and wide receiver Waden Charles in the 2025 class. Charles, Melendez and Nickel are all four-star prospects. Rivals currently ranks the 2025 Miami class 19th overall extremely early in the cycle.

Ewald is considering Miami after de-committing from Michigan following the departure of head coach Jim Harbaugh to the Los Angeles Chargers. Miami could be intriguing to Ewald with his high school teammates, safety Zaquan Patterson and WR Joshisa Trader signing with the Hurricanes in the 2024 class.

Coming off his recent decommitment from Michigan, Ewald is expected at Miami in what will be the busiest weekend yet since coach Mario Cristobal took the job. Battle Miami is an absolutely loaded event this year and the Hurricanes are bringing a ton of those players in for visits.

Ewald is serious about Miami, Florida State and others in his recruitment and some personal attention for the Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna high four-star defensive back wouldn’t go unnoticed."

Clemson made a massive impression on Pickett last weekend after telling the five-star from Zephyrhills, Fla., that he could play offense and defense for the Tigers. Now it will be Miami’s chance again to make a run at one of the best players nationally. The Hurricanes along with Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Oregon round out his top five."
