Miami football has 2 of top 12 2025 TEs with Brock Schott commitment

The Miami football team has secured two of the top dozen tight ends in the 2025 class with the most recent commitment from four-star prospect Brock Schott

The Miami football team has commitments from two of the top 12 tight ends in the 2025 class with four-star prospect Brock Schott committing to the Hurricanes on Saturday. Schott is the 226th prospect, 10th TE and fourth recruit in Indiana out of Leo in the 2025 class. Miami received a commitment from four-star TE Luka Gilbert on April 8.

Schott chose Miami mainly over Ball State, Indiana, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Miami and the other five schools were the only programs Schott visited multiple times before commiting to the Hurricanes. Schott has official visits scheduled for Miami the weekend of May 31 and Ohio State June 7.

Schott had a breakout season in 2023 with 35 receptions for 743 yards and six touchdowns. A two-way player, Schott also had 67 tackles 32.0 tackles for loss and 19.0 sacks. Schott is the highest-ranked commitment in the 2025 Miami class via the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Schott is the seventh player committed to Miami in the 2025 class. Miami is 15th in the 247Sports composite rankings. The Hurricanes are trending upward in the 2025 class. Miami signed a top-15 class in each of the first two full recruiting cycles under Mario Cristobal.

Gilbert is the 254th prospect, 12th TE and 10th player in Ohio out of West Chester, Lakota West outside of Cincinnati. Schott lives near Fort Wayne. Six of the seven 2025 Miami commits are on defense. Four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez is the only defensive player committed to the 2025 Miami class.

With the commitments from Gilbert and Schott, Miami TEs coach Cody Woodiel is now the 15th-ranked recruiter nationally and second in the ACC in the 2025 class. Miami is re-establishing TE U with 2023 TE signees Jackson Carver and Riley Williams and Elija Lofton at the position in the 2024 class.
