Clint Brewster of CBS Sports ranks the Miami football team fourth among the "Top 12 QB setups entering 2024 season: These college teams are doing the most to support their signal-callers." The QB setup rankings are based on who has the most support for their signal callers.

Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson has far more offensive depth entering the 2024 season than he did in 2023. Miami should have a far more explosive offense in 2024 than they did in 2024. Ward has a big arm and is equally adept at throwing deep balls or short passes.

Miami signed the fourth-best 2024 class and 10th-best transfer class. The Hurricanes added 2024 starters at center, running back and wide receiver through the transfer portal. Miami is two deep at every offensive skill position except QB. Ward will have a lot of options in the passing game.

Expect tight end Elijah Arroyo to be completely recovered from a knee injury that has plagued him in the last two seasons. Sophomore Riley Williams gives Miami two strong receiver options at TE. Brewster discussed the transfer additions and the other key players for Miami on offense to complement Ward.

"4. Miami Hurricanes
QB: Cameron Ward
Top playmakers: Xavier Restrepo, Damien Martinez, Jacolby George
Top blockers: Francis Mauigoa, Jalen Rivers

The Hurricanes spent big bucks in the transfer portal to surround Cam Ward with elite playmakers and offensive line protection. It all starts with Damien Martinez at running back...Behind him, Mark Fletcher is an emerging star at the position. The wide receiver room is very solid with Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George returning but there's also stud transfer Sam Brown from Houston coming in via the transfer portal. Right tackle Francis Mauigoa is on a three-and-out trajectory to the NFL. "

Pro Football Focus ranks Miami with the seventh-best receiving corps entering the 2024 season. The Miami running back and offensive line units are also ranked ranked in the top 10 entering the 2024 season by Pro Football Focus. There are several players to watch for Miami other than those mentioned by Brewster.

In addition to Arroyo and Williams, running back Ajay Allen and wide receivers Isaiah Horton and Joshisa Trader are expected to be key contributors for Miami offensively. Expect Horton and Trader to particularly emerge as great complementary WRs to Brown, George and Restrepo.

Allen and Martinez might have to carry the rushing offense for Miami early with Fletcher recovering from a Lisfranc injury. At 6'0 and 232 pounds, Martinez could potentially take most of the carries until Fletcher returns. Center Zach Carpenter is a key transfer addition for Miami at center.

Miami should have one of the best skill position groups nationally in 2024. Mario Cristobal and his staff have set up the Miami roster by developing the returning players and accentuating them through the transfer portal and incoming freshmen. Expect Trader to emerge as a key freshman offensively.
