Miami football named contender for Ohio State WR de-commit Jayvan Boggs
Multiple recruiting sites named the Miami football program a contender for four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs after he de-committed from Ohio State this week. Boggs is the 189th prospect, 24th WR and 27th player in Florida out of Cocoa in the 2025 class. Boggs has visited Miami twice.
In January 2023, Boggs visited Miami for Junior Day and he also visited Coral Gables in January. Miami offered Boggs the weekend of his January visits. Boggs had 41 receptions for 722 yards and six touchdowns during his sophomore season in 2022. Boggs had a breakout junior season in 2023.
Boggs was a dominant receiver with 93 receptions for 1.493 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2023. The 247Sports profile lists Boggs at 6'0 and 198 pounds. Andrew Ivins, the 247Sports Director of Scouting said of Boggs "Multi-year Power Five starter upside with a higher floor. Likely to add value on special teams."
John Garcia of Rivals, Tom Loy of 247Sports and Zach McKinnell of Athlon Sports all stated Miami as a program to watch for Boggs' recruitment. There are no 247Sports crystal balls logged for Boggs. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Florida as the leader with a 56.8 percent chance for a commitment from Boggs.
Central Florida, Florida and Florida State are the only other programs that have received visits from Boggs. Boggs attended June 2023 camps at Florida, Florida State and Ohio State. Miami is on the verge of building an elite 2025 WR class. Miami signed three four-star WR in the 2024 class.
Ny Carr and Joshisa Trader were January enrollees and are participating in spring practice. Chance Robinson will arrive later this year. Miami has a commitment from four-star WR Waden Charles in the 2025 class. The 2025 Miami class is currently 19th in the 247Sports composite rankings.
