Defensive tackle Leonard Taylor, offensive lineman Javion Cohen and safeties Kamren Kinchens and James Williams are Miami football alums projected to be selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Center Matt Lee, defensive back Jaden Davis and defensive tackle Branson Deen are projected to be undrafted free agents by the NFL Mock Draft Database.

Cornerback Te'Cory Couch, defensive lineman Jacob Lichtenstein, linebackers Rocky Shelton and Keontra Smith and wide receiver Tyler Harrell are not listed by the NFL Mock Draft Database. Some combination of those players could eventually earn tryouts in the new United Football League.

The four projected Miami players in the 2024 NFL Draft would be the most since 2021. Miami had four players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. That included first-round defensive linemen Jaelan Phillips and Gregory Rousseau. Phillips was selected 18th overall by the Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills selected Rousseau 31st.,

Defensive tackle Jonathan Ford was the only Miami draftee in 2022. Ford was a seventh-round pick by the Green Bay Packers. Cornerbacks Tyrique Stevenson (Second Round, Chicago Bears) and D.J. Ivey (seventh-round Cincinnati Bengals) and tight end Will Mallory (fifth-round Indianapolis Colts) were the only 2023 Miami draftees.

The critique of Taylor has always been his lack of consistency. Taylor is currently projected as the 46th overall pick in 2024. The NFL Mock Draft Database projected Taylor as high as 20th overall on October 17. Taylor's numbers significantly regressed during the 2023 season.

In 2022, Taylor had 24 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, three sacks and an interception. Taylor had 19 tackles, 3.5 TFLs and one sack in 2023. Taylor finished his Miami career with 64 tackles, 22.5 TFLs, six sacks, one interception and one pass breakup. The former five-star still has a lot of developing to do in the NFL.

Williams who played safety for the entirety of his Miami career, was at LB in the Senior Bowl. Williams was fourth on the American team with five tackles in the Senior Bowl and led them with one TFL. Williams finished his Miami career with 162 tackles, two TFLs, four interceptions, three forced fumbles and 17 pass breakups. Williams had his best season in 2023 with 73 tackles, 0.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, six pass breakups and an interception. With the anticipation of playing LB, Williams has added 15 pounds.

The NFL Mock Draft Database currently projects Williams as the 129th ranked prospect. Williams was ranked as high as 48th on October 9. During Senior Bowl week the NFL Mock Draft Database ranked Williams 117th. The combine will be critical for Williams testing at his new weight.

With the seventh-best 2023 signing class and third 2024 class, Miami should significantly improve the amount of draftees over the next few seasons.
