With a commitment announcement coming on Friday, the Miami football team is the prohibitive favorite for 4-star center S.J. Alofaituli. Miami, Michigan and Nebraska are the finalists for Alofaituli. Blair Angulo of 247Sports reported Alofaituli's commitment will be on "July 5 at 9:00 am PT / noon ET via the 247Sports YouTube Channel."

Alofaituli is the 77th prospect, third interior offensive lineman and third player in Nevada out of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman in the 2025 class. There are four 247Sports crystal balls logged projecting Alofaituli will commit to Miami. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Miami with a 97.2 percent chance for an Alofaituli commitment.

Michigan, Nebraska and Miami hosted Alofaituli for official visits during June. Per Angulo "Alofaituli has committed to play in both the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game and the 2025 Polynesian Bowl all-star game." Alofaituli would be the highest-ranked commit in the 2025 Miami class per the 247Sports rankings.

Alofaituli would be the third IOL in the 2025 Miami class. Miami received commitments from IOL Max Buchanan and Taykaylen Muex in June. Miami also has commitments from tackle Demetrius Campbell and Jaden Wilkerson on the OL in the 2025 class. The 2025 Miami class is currently 15th nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings.

If Miami gets a commitment from four-star safety Hylton Stubbs as expected on Thursday and Alofaituli on Friday they will move up to the seventh-ranked 2025 class. Mario Cristobal and his staff have Miami in a position to sign a third consecutive top-10 class.

Gabe Brooks, a 247Sports scouting analyst projects Alofaituli as a prospect "who could likely provide earlier snaps at the college level." Miami will lose starting center Zach Carpenter after the 2024 season. Starting at center as a true freshman is very difficult.

Brooks also said Alofaituli "lacks elite physical traits in height and length categories, but owns excellent combine testing athleticism reflected in on-field movement ability." Gaining a commitment from Alofaituli shows the elite-level recruiters that Mario Cristobal and OL coach Alex Mirabal are.
