Miami football prohibitive favorite in top 6 for 4-star CB Chris Ewald
The Miami football program has an 86.4 percent chance for a commitment from 2025 four-star cornerback Chris Ewald after the Chaminade-Madonna star dropped his top six on Monday. Auburn, Georgia, Louisville and Penn State are the other schools in Ewald's top six.
Ewald has official visits scheduled with Georgia May 31–June 2, Louisville June 11–13, Miami June 14–16, and Penn State June 19–21. Miami has received the most unofficial visits from Ewald with 10, followed by Michigan with eight, Florida State with five and Auburn with four.
Ewald has visited Georgia, Georgia Tech and Penn State twice each. Central Florida, Mississippi, Texas A&M and USC each received one unofficial visit from Ewald. Michigan held a commitment from Ewald from December 2022 through January. Ewald was high school teammates with 2024 Miami signees Zaquan Patterson and JoJo Trader.
Ewald should have a chance to play early for Miami. Darryl Porter Jr. is entering his final season in 2024. Damari Brown is projected to lead the Miami CBs in 2025 at a thin position for the Hurricanes. Romanas Frederique Jr. is the only player who signed with Miami as a CB in 2024.
Dylan Day signed with Miami as a safety but is expected to move to CB. Robert Stafford signed Brown in the 2024 class. Expect Miami to make CB's priority in the 2025 class. Four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez is the only defensive commit out of seven players in the 2025 Miami class.
Ewald is the 164th prospect, 21st CB and 22nd player in Florida in the 2025 class. Melendez is the only current 2025 Miami commit higher rated than Ewald. A commitment from Ewald can make him a cornerstone commit in the 2025 Miami class. The 2025 Miami class is currently 19th in the 247Sports composite rankings.
