Five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount posted to X on Tuesday night that he "will be signing tomorrow at 6pm Eastern time, on instagram live." Blount is currently committed to Florida State, but four 247 Sports crystal balls were logged for Blount to flip to the Miami football program last Thursday.

The Miami football program has fiercely battled with Florida State for Blount throughout the 2024 recruiting cycle. Miami initially received a commitment from Blount in September. Florida State flipped Blount in October. As the calendar flipped to December, Miami began building momentum to flip Blount from Florida State.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Miami with a 94.3 percent chance for a commitment from Blount. Whatever program Blount signs with will impact the top five 2024 classes. Florida State currently has the fourth-ranked 2024 class and Miami is sixth. Blount signing with Miami would elevate the Hurricanes class to fourth.

If Blount signs with Miami, Florida State would drop behind the Hurricanes and Texas to the sixth-ranked 2024 class. Miami would have the top-ranked class in the ACC for the second straight year if they sign Blount. Blount would give Miami two five-star DL in the 2024 class. Miami also has five-star DL Justin Scott.

Four-star edge rushers Marquise Lightfoot, Booker Pickett Jr. and Elias Rudolph and three-star Cole McConathy plus four-star DL Artavius Jones and three-star Daylen Russell provide Miami with an elite 2024 DL class. Mario Cristobal has delivered on his promise to make the line of scrimmage a priority in recruiting.

The 2024 Miami DL signees will join an outstanding 2023 class that includes ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year Rueben Bain. In a year or two Miami should have one of the best DLs in the country. The Miami DL are coached by Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor and 13-year NFL veteran Joe Salave'a.
