The Miami football program is awaiting commitment announcements from other cornerbacks after five-star prospect D.J. Pickett committed to LSU on Thursday. Expect the Miami staff to continue working hard to recruit Pickett, hoping for a future flip, while also focusing on three potential CBs high on the Hurricanes' list.
Four-star CBs Jaboree Antoine and Ben Hanks and three-star Aidan Anding all took official visits to Miami in June. Antoine has his commitment announcement on Saturday at noon Anding and Hanks have not set commitment announcement dates yet. Miami previously received commitments from CBs Chris Ewald and Timothy Merritt.
LSU is the favorite for a commitment from Antoine. The only crystal ball logged for Antoine was to LSU one day after his de-commitment from the Tigers. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects LSU with a 51.4 percent chance for an Antoine commitment and Miami at 44.9 percent.
There are no crystal balls logged for Hanks. The On3 RPM projects Florida with a 47.3 percent chance for a commitment from Hanks and Miami at 24.9 percent. Every other program is listed by On3 with less than a 10,0 percent chance for a Hanks commitment. Hanks is a Florida legacy.
LSU and Texas appear to be the co-favorites for Anding. One crystal ball was logged for Anding to Texas and three for LSU. The three most recent crystal balls project Anding to LSU. The On3 RPM lists Texas with a 57.4 percent chance for a commitment from Anding and LSU at 38.8 percent. Everyone else is below 2.5 percent.
Miami cornerback coach Chevis Jackson was not hired until February after his predecessor Jahmile Addae left for the Buffalo Bills. Building relationships is critical to recruiting. Jackson is just beginning to do that with Miami. Another 2025 CB could emerge, or Miami could add a transfer at the position following the 2024 season.
