The Miami football program has often played regular season neutral site games in their history. Earlier this week it was announced Miami will play Utah in the 2027 regular season opener at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. It will be the first regular season neutral site game for Miami since 2021.

Miami opened the 2021 season with a 44-13 loss to Alabama in Atlanta. The game in Atlanta was the third of three neutral site regular season games for Miami in four seasons. Miami lost 24-20 to Florida in Orlando in 2019 and 33-17 in Arlington, Texas to LSU in the 2018 season opener.

Per the 2023 Miami football media guide, the Hurricanes have played 10 regular season neutral site games in its history. The first regular season neutral site game for Miami was a 12-9 loss to Florida in Jacksonville in 1958. That was the last regular season neutral site game for Miami until 1984.

After the 1958 loss to Florida in Jacksonville, Miami won five consecutive neutral site regular season games. Miami did not lose a neutral site regular season game again until a 27-23 defeat to East Carolina in Raleigh in 1999. After starting 5-1 in regular season neutral site games, Miami is now 6-6 per the media guide.
