Jeremiah Smith of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna who signed with Ohio State is the top-ranked player from Florida in the 2024 class. Smith is followed by Florida signee L.J. McCray, T.J. Moore of Clemson and Zay Mincey with Alabama. The Miami run begins at five.
Five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount is fifth, WR Joshisa Trader is sixth, edge rusher Booker Pickett ninth and safety Zaquan Patterson 10th in Florida in the 2024 class. Florida State cornerback signee Charles Lester is seventh and Florida linebacker Myles Graham, who is eighth, round out the top 10.
Miami has the fifth ranked class nationally per the "2024 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings." Miami is third in the 247 Sports composite rankings. Miami has the top-ranked 2024 class in the ACC and in Florida, by any measure.
Blount was one of three five-star 2024 signees for Miami, with defensive lineman Marquise Lightfoot and defensive tackle Justin Scott, who are both from Chicago. Miami signed the top 2024 DL. Four-star Miami signee Jordan Lyle from St. Thomas Aquinas was named the top 2024 running back by On3.
Florida signed two five-star players in the 2024 class. That includes D.J. Lagway, the third-ranked prospect and top quarterback in the 2024 class. McCray is also rated five stars. Florida finished with the 11th-ranked 2024 class. Florida State, who did not sign any five-star prospects, is 14th.
Mario Cristobal and his staff did an exceptional job with the 2024 class. Miami made the DL a priority and delivered. The Hurricanes signed a top 10 class for the second consecutive year after finishing with the seventh-ranked 2023 class. Expect some of the 2024 signees to make an impact as true freshmen this fall.
