Miami football sixth in ACC in July with eight commits
The Miami football program was sixth in the ACC during June with eight commitments in the 2025 class per Rivals.Com. Miami is currently 17th nationally and third in the ACC among 2025 recruiting classes in Rivals rankings. Clemson is 14th nationally and leads the ACC with the top 2025 recruiting class.
Georgia Tech has the 15th-ranked class nationally and second in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets have 20 players committed for 2025 which is third in the ACC. Syracuse leads all ACC programs with 26 commits in the 2025 class. Duke is second in the ACC with 20 players committed for 2025.
Miami received commitments from cornerbacks Chris Ewald and Timothy Merritt, safety Amari Wallace, linebackers Herbert Scroggins and Ezekiel Marcelin, and offensive linemen Max Buchanan, Demetrius Campbell and Jaden Wilkerson in June. Scroggins is listed as an edge rusher by some other recruiting sites.
Miami leads all ACC programs with 11 four-star commits per the Rivals.Com rankings. Clemson is second among ACC programs with 10 four-star commits. Florida State is the only ACC program with a five-star commit. No other ACC program has more than four four-star commits by the Rivals.Com rankings.
Georgia Tech led all ACC teams in June with 17 commits. Duke and Manny Diaz were second in the ACC in June with 13 commitments, followed by Boston College and Pittsburgh with 12 and Syracuse with 10 as the programs ahead of Miami during June. North Carolina State tied for sixth with Miami by gaining eight commitments in June.
Expect Miami to have a busy July. Four-star linebacker Gavin Nix is announcing his commitment on Monday and four-star safety Hylton Stubbs will make his college choice known on Thursday. Miami is trending for commitments from Nix and Stubbs. Miami will move into the top 10 on the 247Sports composite rankings with commitments from Nix and Stubbs.
