Spencer played in 11 games as a true freshman, recording one assisted tackle. After initially committing to Oklahoma, Spencer flipped to Miami in the 2023 class. Spencer was the 673rd-ranked prospect, 58th safety and 17th player in Virginia in the 2024 class. Miami switched Spencer from safety to LB.

Miami players entering the portal should grow significantly over the next two weeks. Miami reportedly wants to add at least five transfers. Expect Miami to target starter-level transfers. The number of transfers Miami adds could eventually be more than five. The Miami coaching staff will be busy in the next two weeks.

Defensive lineman Collins Acheampong and Wayne are the only 2023 Miami signees to transfer out.
