Miami football standing as finalist for 4-star LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng
The Miami football program is one of 13 finalists for four-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng with Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, South Carolina, Stanford, Texas and USC.
Owusu-Boateng is the 69th ranked 2025 prospect, ninth LB and ninth player in Florida in the 247Sports composite rankings. Official visits for Owusu-Boateng are set up with South Carolina during the weekend of May 31, Stanford on June 7 and Georgia on June 14. Other visits will be forthcoming.
No 247Sports crystal balls have been logged for Owusu-Boateng. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine lists Florida as the favorite for a commitment from Owusu-Boateng at 27.9 percent. South Carolina is second at 19.6 percent, followed by Georgia at 12.7 percent and Miami at 10.6.
Florida has the most unofficial visits from Owusu-Boateng with five. Owusu-Boateng has visited Miami three times and South Carolina twice per On3. Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Stanford have each hosted Owusu-Boateng for one unofficial visit.
On a team loaded with four and five-star prospects, Owusu-Boateng had 45 tackles, six tackles for loss and one sack in 2023. With a mostly unestablished LB corps and Francisco Mauigoa entering his last season, Owusu-Boateng would have an opportunity for significant snaps as a freshman with Miami.
Owusu-Boateng could join four-star LB Elijah Melendez, the only 2025 Miami commit on defense. The 2025 Miami class would move from 18th to 14th in the 2025 class rankings with Owusu-Boateng. Owusu-Boateng would become the highest-ranked 2025 Miami commit surpassing Melendez.
Miami signed LBs Adarius Hayes and Cameron Pruitt in the 2024 class. Pruitt was impressive during spring practice and should compete for significant snaps as a true freshman. Linebacker coach Derek Nicholson has done an exceptional job for Miami on Mario Cristobal's staff in just over a year.
