Miami football standing with 3 defensive recruiting visits this week
The Miami football program had another key week of hosting prospects. Four-star safety Amari Wallace and three-star defensive lineman Davion Dixon visited Miami on Thursday and three-star cornerback Aidan Anding was in Coral Gables on Saturday, according to the On3 recruiting database.
Miami currently has five commits in the 2025 class. Four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez is the only defensive player committed to Miami in the 2025 class. Miami is running third in the recruitment for Anding, Dixon is committed to Notre Dame and the Hurricanes are trending for a commitment from Wallace.
Anding visited Miami for the first time this weekend. Miami offered Anding a scholarship in January. Anding is the 739th overall prospect, 69th CB and 22nd recruit in Louisiana in the 2024 class out of Ruston. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Arkansas as the leader for Anding with a 29.2 percent chance for a commitment.
TCU has the second-best chance for a commitment for Anding per On3 at 25.6 percent and Miami is third at 21.9 percent. Arkansas and Miami are listed as the only schools warm in the recruitment of Anding by 247Sports. Miami Defensive Coordinator Lance Guidry is the primary recruiter for Anding and secondary coach Chevis Jackson is the secondary.
Miami Palmetto prospect Dixon doesn't have any 247Sports crystal balls logged for him. Dixon has been committed to Notre Dame since April 2023. Despite committing to Notre Dame, On3 projects Florida State as the leader with a 36.8 percent chance for a commitment from Dixon.
Notre Dame is second with a 32.2 percent chance for a commitment from Dixon and Florida is third at 14.5 percent. The visit by Dixon to Miami this weekend was also his first. Notre Dame has received five visits from Dixon. Florida State is the only other program to receive multiple visits from Dixon with two.
Wallace would be a huge addition to Miami. The Hurricanes need to add safety depth for the future. Zaquan Patterson who signed with Miami in the 2024 class could form a potentially elite safety tandem with Wallace. Wallace is the 215th ranked prospect 18th safety and 33rd recruit in the 2025 class in the 247Sports composite rankings.
Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U, 247Sports National Recruiting Expect Tom Loy and Zach Blostein of Noles247 have all logged crystal balls projecting Wallace to commit to Miami. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Miami with a 97.3 percent chance for a commitment from Wallace.
This weekend was the fourth visit by Wallace to Miami. The Hurricanes will host Wallace for an official visit the weekend of June 14. Per On3, Florida is the only other program that has hosted Wallace for a visit in 2024. The 2021 Miami class currently ranks 21st nationally. Expect Miami's 2025 class to rise significantly when the prospects are all signed.
