Two out of the five offensive players to visit the Miami football program in the last week are committed to the Hurricanes for 2025, Four-star running back Girard Pringle committed to Miami after his visit this weekend. Four-star wide receiver Waden Charles who visited Miami last week has been committed since September.
Three-star tight end Brock Schott, four-star offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews and running back Jasper Parker also visited Miami last week. Matthews and Schott are currently uncommitted. Matthews' visit to Miami this weekend was his first to Coral Gables. Schott took his second visit to Miami last week.
Four of the five committed players in the 2025 Miami class are on offense. In addition to Charles and Pringle Jr., Miami has commitments in the 2025 class from four-star quarterback Luke Nickel and three-star offensive tackle Lamar Williams. Four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez is also committed to Miami for 2025.
Multiple sites have reported that Miami is in a good position for Matthews. Matthews was previously committed to Penn State and told Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U he has Miami in his top two. Offensive line coach Alex Mirabal is leading the recruitment for Matthews. Matthews is the 106th prospect, 10th OT and second in N.J. in the 2025 class.
Syracuse will host Matthews the weekend of May 31 for an official visit, followed by Tennessee the weekend of June 14 and Georgia the weekend of June 21 per Matthews' On3 profile. The 247Sports profile for Matthews shows that he took an official visit to Baylor the weekend of February 9. Expect Miami to receive an official visit.
Multiple sites reported that the visit by Schott to Miami went well. Schott could have an opportunity to play as a freshman at Miami. Cam McCormick is entering his final season of eligibility and Elijah Arroyo is eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft. That would leave Jackson Carver, Riley Williams and Elijah Lofton as TEs on the 2025 Miami roster.
Schott is the 221st prospect, 10th TE and fourth player in Indiana in the 2025 class. A versatile athlete, Schott had 35 receptions for for 743 yards and six touchdowns on offense and 67 tackles, 32 for loss and 19 sacks as a junior in 2023. Expect TE to be a priority for Miami in the 2025 class.
In addition to Miami, Schott has a visit to Ohio State scheduled for this weekend per On3 and his official with the Buckeyes the weekend of June 7 per 247Sports. Schott has taken unofficial visits with 13 Power Conference programs. Miami is one of six programs to receive unofficial visits from Schott.
Parker, who is from Marrero Archbishop Shaw, is the latest Miami target from Louisiana. Redshirt sophomore RB Tre'Vonte Citizen is from Lake Charles, LA. Miami wants to pair Parker with Pringle Jr. Parker is the 425th prospect, 38th RB and 16th recruit in Louisiana in the 2024 class. Parker has official visits to Oklahoma State and SMU scheduled.
The visit by Charles last weekend was his fifth to Coral Gables per his On3 profile. Charles was the second commit to Miami in the 2025 class after Nickel. Charles is reportedly firm in his commitment to Miami, but still taking other visits. Tennessee received a visit from Charles this weekend per 247Sports.
Auburn and Georgia are the schools with the best chance to flip Charles per his On3 profile, with Florida more of a long shot in the mix. Charles is the 290th prospect, 11th athlete and 42nd player in the 2025 class per 247Sports. Andrew Ivins, the 247Sports Director of Scouting said Charles "Should be viewed as a potential impact player on Saturdays."
Miami received a commitment from Pringle Jr. on Saturday, following his visit to Coral Gables this weekend. Pringle Jr. had been projected with a 63.0 percent chance to commit to Alabama via the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Urrutia described Pringle Jr. as one of the "nation's most explosive tailbacks."
The past week wasn't only focused on offense, as five defensive prospects visited the Miami football program in the past week. Expect cornerback and safety to be positions of focus for Miami in the 2025 class. Miami needs depth in the secondary and length, specifically at CB, on the 2025 roster.
