Miami football surges into top 10 with 4-star CB Jaboree Antoine commit

On Saturday, the Miami football program earned a commitment from four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine.

On Saturday, the Miami football program earned a commitment from four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine who told Chad Simmons of On3 that his decision came down to LSU and the Hurricanes. The 247Sports composite ranks Antoine as the 71st prospect, eighth CB and second player in Louisiana in the 2025 class.

Antoine's commitment to Miami was unexpected. 247Sports' crystal ball had predicted that Antoine would choose LSU, but the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine had projected him to Miami. Miami's 2025 class moved to eighth place after Antoine's commitment, surpassing Clemson, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.

Miami previously received commitments from four-star prospect Chris Ewald and three-star Timothy Merritt at CB. Antoine is the second-highest-ranked commit in the 2025 Miami class behind safety Hylton Stubbs. Miami is building an elite secondary in the 2025 class. Four-star 2025 safety Amari Wallace is also committed to Miami.

Antoine told Josh Newburg of On3 that he informed Miami head coach Mario Cristobal of his decision on Friday. Miami was able to go into Louisiana and earn the commitment from Antoine. Miami defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson played at LSU. Miami defensive coordinator Lance Guidry is a Louisiana native.

Antoine provides excellent length to the Miami secondary at 6'1 and 175 pounds. Antoine and Stubbs provide Miami with two top 100 players in the secondary per the 247Sports composite rankings. Miami is trending to sign the top class in the ACC and top 10 nationally for the third consecutive year.

Defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson has been the primary recruiter for Antoine, Ewald, and Merritt. The commitment from Antoine had to be particularly satisfying for Jackson, an LSU alum. Jackson was the lead recruiter for Antoine, Jackson and Merritt.

Antoine is the fifth commit for Miami in July. Center Seuseu Alofaituli, linebacker Gavin Nix, Stubbs and wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw have all committed to Miami in July, Alofaituli, Nix, Stubbs and Antoine are the top four ranked players in the 2025 Miami class per the 247Sports rankings.
