Miami football Top 10 transfer classes in 2024 by average player rating
The 2024 Miami football transfer class ranks 10th nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings overall and by the average rating of each player. Miami's 2024 transfers are led by quarterback Cam Ward from Washington State and running back Damien Martinez from Oregon State.
The foundation of the 2024 Miami offense will be built around Martinez, Ward and wide receivers Sam Brown who is a Houston transfer and Hurricanes' returnees Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George. Indiana transfer Zach Carpenter is a key addition for Miami on the offensive line.
Miami added edge rushers Elijah Alston from Marshall and Tyler Baron from Louisville via Tennessee to give the Hurricanes one of the best defensive lines nationally. Former Louisville linebacker Jaylin Alderman should also be a key performer for Miami in 2024.
Ward and Martinez are the highest-ranked 2024 Miami transfers. Baron is the highest-rated Miami transfer on defense. Miami could start as many as 11 transfers in 2024. Miami is expected to return 11 players who were primary starters in 2023.

The 2024 Miami transfer class will be judged on the success of Ward. Hughes called Ward "one of the most important figures in college football this season." As a consensus top 10 Heisman Trophy candidate Ward will be one of the most closely followed players in college football in 2024.
Brown, George and Restrepo make Miami one of the few teams nationally returning three 800-yard receivers in 2024. Miami should be extremely balanced offensively in 2024 largely due to the transfer additions. Brown, Martinez and Ward are all four-star offensive transfer additions.
Baron, defensive tackle Marley Cook and safety Mishael Powell are four-star defensive transfer additions for Miami in 2024. Baron will compete to be a starter in 2024 opposite Rueben Bain. Cook will compete to start inside with Simeon Barrow and C.J. Clark. Powell is a projected starter opposite a safety to be determined.
