Miami football transfer RB outgoing versus incoming production
The addition of Oregon State Damien Martinez provides the Miami football program with one of the most productive running backs in college football in the last two seasons. After two seasons leading Miami in rushing Henry Parrish transferred back to Mississippi during the spring transfer portal window.
Don Chaney Jr. transferred to Louisville seeking more opportunity for carries than he had with Miami. Tre'Vonte Citizen was the third Miami RB to leave since the end of the 2023 season. After a severe knee injury during August training camp of his true freshman year in 2022, Citizen never appeared in a game for Miami.
Martinez was first-team All-Pac 12 in 2022 and 2023, a freshman All-American in 2022 and the Pac 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year. Parrish earned third-team All-ACC in 2022. After missing most of the 2021 and 2022 seasons with a knee injury, Chaney had the best year of his career in 2023.
Chaney, Citizen and Parrish were all four-star prospects out of high school. Martinez was a three-star signee with Oregon State in 2022 and is a four-star transfer. Martinez is a big back at 6'0 and 237 pounds who can produce explosive runs.
