Update: The line has moved again just a few hours before kickoff. As of Thursday morning, Rutgers is now a 1.5-point favorite over Miami. The total and money lines have remained the same as they were on Wednesday night.
The Pinstripe Bowl line has continued moving throughout the week. The late-moving line has primarily been impacted by the changing Miami roster. Seven Miami starters and several reserves have opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl. Miami will be without 13 players who are entering the NFL Draft or transferring.
Center Matt Lee, left guard Javion Cohen and safeties Kamren Kinchens and James Williams opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl to prepare for the NFL Draft. Miami will also be missing starters, edge rusher Jahfari Harvey quarterback Tyler Van Dyke and wide receiver Colbie Young who are transferring.
Rutgers will be without 11 players in the Pinstripe Bowl who have entered the transfer portal. Cornerback Max Melton opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl for Rutgers to get ready for the NFL Draft.
The total for the Pinstripe Bowl has also moved less than 24 hours before kickoff. On Tuesday night, the over/under was posted at 40.5. About 24 hours later, the total moved to 41.5. The over is at minus 104 and the under is minus 118. The total opened at 43.5 on December 4.
In the latest moneyline, Rutgers is minus 126 and Miami is now plus 105. The moneyline numbers have changed from Miami minus 102 and Rutgers minus 118 on Tuesday night.
The line could have moved slowly due to bettors beginning to place bets closer to game day. More news could be available in the few hours before kickoff. Pinstripe Bowl rosters should be solidified barring any late-breaking news or injury developments during pregame warmups.
Expect a low-scoring game, with both offenses focusing on the running game. Miami is starting Jacurri Brown at quarterback. Brown is receiving his first playing time this season. Rutgers is 127th nationally averaging 142.0 passing yards per game.
