Miami huge Tuesday hosting blue chip WRs Jaime FFrench and Vernell Brown III
The Miami football program is pointing towards a big Tuesday, hosting five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench and four-star Vernell Brown III. Miami is without a WR in its 2025 class entering the visits from Brown and Ffrench. Miami needs to add WRs to its projected 2025 roster.
Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George, the top two receivers for Miami in 2023, are entering their final season of eligibility in 2024. There will be opportunities for true freshmen to compete for snaps at WR for Miami in 2025. Ffrench named Miami in his top three programs with LSU and Texas.
Originally Ffrench stated Texas was first and LSU second with Miami third in his recruitment. Ffrench has backed off ranking the three programs. LSU hosted Ffrench for an official visit the weekend of May 31. Tennessee will host Ffrench this weekend. Ffrench is taking his official visit to Texas the weekend of June 21.
Brown took his official visit to Ohio State the weekend of May 31 and will visit Florida this weekend, followed by Florida State the weekend of June 21. Ohio State is currently the leader for a commitment from Brown, with two 247Sports crystal balls projecting him to the Buckeyes.
The recruitment of Ffrench has fluctuated. Texas site Longhorns Country reported Friday that LSU has taken the lead in Ffrench's commitment. Ffrench set an August 30 commitment date last week. By the end of June, we will have a better idea of who has the lead for a commitment from FFrench.
Gaining a commitment from Brown, Ffrench or both would be significant for Miami. The Hurricanes signed four-star WRs Ny Carr, Chance Robinson and Joshisa Trader in the 2024 class. Carr, Robinson and Trader, with potentially the 2025 signees will form the foundation for Miami at WR in the future.
