Miami is new favorite to win ACC after week one results
Following their 41-17 season-opening win at Florida, Clemson's 34-3 loss to Georgia and the 0-2 start by Florida State, Miami is the new favorite to win the ACC. Metrics and oddsmakers both project Miami as the new favorite in the ACC. Florida State opened the season as the ACC favorite.
Florida State was favored to win the ACC by the ESPN Football Power Index and odds makers. Miami began the season 23rd in the FPI. Florida State was 11th. After its win over Florida, Miami has taken Florida State's spot at 11th in the FPI. After an 0-2 start, Florida State has dropped to 36th in the FPI.
Miami is at plus 165 to win the ACC by FanDuel. Clemson is the second favorite by FanDuel at plus 300, followed by Louisville at plus 700 and ACC newcomer SMU led by former Miami offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee at plus 950. Florida State is at plus 5000 to win the ACC by FanDuel.
The FPI projects Miami as the favorite with a 26.2 percent chance to win the ACC. Louisville is a close second with a 25.3 percent chance to win the ACC in the FPI. Clemson is third at 12.3 percent, Every other team is listed with less than a 10 percent chance to win the ACC. Florida State has a 0.6 percent chance to win the ACC.
