The 16-14 upset by Northern Illinois at Notre Dame on Saturday has shaken up College Football Playoff projections. Miami's 56-9 win over Florida A&M on Saturday keeps the Hurricanes as the projected third seed in the College Football Playoff as the highest -anked team in the ACC.

Other results have impacted the projections after week two. Texas' thorough domination of Michigan in Ann Arbor moves the Longhorns ahead of Alabama. The Crimson Tide struggled for three quarters before outscoring South Florida 28-3 over the final 15 minutes in a 42-16 win at home.

The loss by Notre Dame drops the Fighting Irish completely out of the College Football Playoff rankings. Tulane who was the top Group of Five team last week in the metrics, drops out after a controversial loss to Kansas State. Everyone else in the post week one projected rankings won in week two.

Miami moved up two spots in the Associated Press Top 25 to 10th and three places in the USA Today Coaches poll to 12th. The Hurricanes are the highest-ranked team outside of the SEC or Big 10 in the AP Top 25 and second behind Utah of the Big XII in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
