Miami tied in top 20 ESPN College Football Playoff projections
The Miami football team is tied for 19th with Louisville in the ESPN Playoff Predictor posted earlier this week. Louisville and Miami each have an 18 percent chance to make the College Football Playoff. The projections were posted before Florida State lost 24-21 to Georgia Tech in Ireland on Saturday.
The loss by Florida State should help Louisville and Miami in the College Football Playoff projections. Florida State entered the first in the ACC and 11th nationally with a 36 percent chance to earn a College Football Playoff berth. Clemson is second in the ACC and 13th nationally with a 27 percent chance for a CFP berth.
Miami does not play Clemson this season. Louisville hosts Miami on October 19. Florida State plays at Miami on October 26. Miami does not play another team in the 24 programs listed on the ESPN Playoff contenders. Florida State and Louisville do not play in 2024 among the other potential games among the top four ACC teams.
The ESPN Playoff Predictor allows fans to pick the path for any of the top 24 teams with a chance to earn a berth per their projections. The three games chosen for Miami are at Florida on August 31, at Louisville and versus Florida.
The Football Power Index projects Miami with a 43 percent chance each of winning at Florida and Louisville and a 41 percent chance to win at Florida State as determined before games were played week zero.
