Miami WR coach Kevin Beard and prospect Vernell Brown impressive move on video
Miami wide receivers coach Kevin Beard and 2025 prospect Vernell Brown III pulled off impressive simultaneous flips during Orlando Jones' official visit in Coral Gables on Tuesday. Brown posted the flips to his X account on Tuesday afternoon. As of Thursday night, the post had 145.000 views.
Brown's post also had 1,100 likes, 228 reposts and 50 comments by Thursday night. Brown is one of three highly ranked WR prospects Miami is hosting for official visits this week. Five-star WR Jaime Ffrench took his official visit with Brown on Tuesday. Four-star WR Dallas Wilson who is committed to Oregon is taking his official visit this weekend.
The move was impressive from the 43-year-old Beard. Beard is in his second season during his second stint on the Miami coaching staff. Beard was the 25th-ranked recruiter, fifth among WR coaches and third in the ACC in the 2024 class.
Miami signed four-star WRs Ny Carr, Chance Robinson and Joshisa Trader in the 2024 class. Trader was impressive this spring and is projected to have the biggest impact among the three as true freshmen. Carr and Trader participated in spring practice. Robinson is a summer enrollee.
Miami was the second official visit Brown III has taken. Brown III visited Ohio State the weekend of May 31. Florida will host Brown III this weekend. Brown III will visit Florida State the weekend of June 21. Ohio State is currently the leader for Brown III with two 247Sports crystal balls logging him to the Buckeyes.
On3 projects Ohio State with a 71.0 percent chance for a Brown III commitment. Brown is considered elite in the open field and projects as a slot receiver in college. Miami loses starting slot receiver Xavier Restrepo after this season. Sophomore RayRay Joseph is the heir apparent to Restrepo as Miami's starting slot receiver.
