National College Football site ranks Miami 2024 strength of schedule
Miami is 50th nationally and 10th in the ACC in the College Football "2024 Strength of Schedule For All 134 FBS College Football Teams" published by the College Football Network website. Only 17 Power Conference teams are ranked lower than Miami in CFN's 2024 strength of schedule.
CFN Executive Editor Cam Mellor explained they used "a bevy of metrics such as returning production, roster projections, coaching staff, incoming talent, home-field advantage, and other factors" to determine which FBS teams have the most difficult and easiest schedules in 2024.
Miami is unusual among most Power Conference teams with two 2024 non-conference road games. Florida will host Miami in the season opener at the Swamp on August 31. Miami plays at South Florida on September 21 to conclude non-conference play.
Consensus experts view Miami's ACC schedule favorably. Duke, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest will play at Miami in 2024. Miami travels to Cal, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Syracuse in ACC games.

Florida State, Louisville and Virginia Tech are the only teams among the eight on Miami's schedule projected to compete for an ACC title game berth. With only Louisville on the road among those three, Miami should also compete for an ACC Championship game berth during the 2024 season.
Six of Miami's 2024 opponents have more difficult strengths of schedule per the CFN metrics. Florida has the toughest projected schedule in FBS, followed by, among Miami's opponents, Georgia Tech second, Florida State 19th, Wake Forest 35th, Duke 37th and Louisville 43rd.
Other ACC teams in the top 50 in the strength of schedule are Clemson who has the 28th toughest slate in 2024, Stanford 36th, Boston College tied for 38th with Auburn and Virginia 42nd. The strength of schedule will be a key metric in determining College Football Playoff berths.
The strength of schedule for Miami will evolve throughout the season. CFN provides a good projection about Miami's strength of schedule entering the 2024 season. Miami does not have Clemson or North Carolina on their 2024 regular season schedule. That's part of why the consensus says Miami has a favorable 2024 schedule
