Nijel Pack expected back for Miami basketball in ACC Tourney versus BC
Guard Nijel Pack is expected to return for the Miami basketball team versus Boston College on Tuesday night in the first round of the ACC Tournament per Hurricanes play-by-play announcer Joe Zagacki on the pregame show. Pack has missed five of the previous six games.
The only game Pack has played in the previous six for Miami was 13 minutes versus Boston College last Wednesday. Pack missed all five of his shots from the floor, went 0-4 on three-point attempts, had three assists, one steal and a turnover versus Boston College last week.
Pack has only one double-figure game in the last month with 20 points in a 75-72 loss at North Carolina. Miami needs a productive performance from Pack on Tuesday night. Pack is averaging 13.1 points per game, 2.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists this season while shooting 39.2 percent from the floor.
With Pack expected to return either Kyshawn George or Bensley Joseph will return to the bench. George has started most of the last month when Miami is fully healthy. Joseph stated versus Boston College last Wednesday on Senior Day. Miami has had a full team for only nine ACC games this season.
Pack was critical for Miami in the loss to North Carolina sharing high scoring honors with Norchad Omier. George was out in the loss to the Tar Heels. Pack played only 14 minutes versus Boston College last week and should be rested for Boston College on Tuesday night.
Pack missed the 85-77 Miami loss at Boston College last month. Miami has been without Pack in seven games this season. The Hurricanes played only eight of its 20 ACC games this season with all five starters. Miami is the 14th seed out of 15 in the 2024 ACC Tournament. Miami has to win five games in five days to earn the title.
