Nijel Pack named top 15 3-point shooters entering 2024-25 season
Miami guard Nijel Pack was named by NCAA.Com columnist Andy Katz as one of the top 16 returning three-point shooters entering the 2024-25 season. Pack is tied for seventh in Miami history with Trey McKinney-Jones making 38.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Pack has made 159 of his 344 three-point attempts at Miami.
Entering the 2024-25 season, Pack should break into the top 10 in three-point shots made and attempted in Miami history. At his two season average pace, Pack would finish fifth in Miami history in made three-point shots and ninth in attempts passing 2023 ACC Player of the Year Isaiah Wong.
Pack's numbers fell off significantly last season in an injury plagued season when he missed seven games. During the 2023 Final Four season, Pack made 86 three-point shots in 213 attempts for 40.4 percent. Pack made 50 threees in 140 attempts for 35.7 percent during the 2023-24 season.
The hope is that a healthy Pack can have a redemptive season. Pack is the only player on the Miami roster remaining from the 2023 Final Four team. Pack will have a lot of shooters around him in 2024-25. Miami brought in top scorer Jalen Blackmon as a transfer and five-star 2024 guard Jalil Bethea.
Transfer A.J. Staton-McCray and 2024 signee Austin Swartz give Miami an exceptionally deep backcourt. Forward Matthew Cleveland and Pack will be leaders for Miami in 2024-25. Cleveland, sophomore guard Paul Djobet and Pack are the only other holdovers from the 2023-24 Miami team.
No matter how Pack finishes his Miami career he will always be remembered for making seven three-point shots versus Houston in the Midwest Regional Semifinal. Pack was named the Midwest Regional Most Outstanding Player after averaging 18.5 points per game and shot 44.8 percent to help Miami make its only Final Four.
