Oklahoma State sideline reporter Robert Allen made the outlandish and unproven statement he wouldn't root for the Miami football team if they were playing the Kremlin and that the Hurricanes are the most cheating instituion out there in the NIL era.

Allen stated Miami tampered with Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon and linebacker Nick Martin without any evidence to back up his statement. Allen made the comments appearing on the 365 Sports Show. Gordon led the nation in rushing in 2023 with 1,732 rushing yards and was second with 123.71 yards per game and 21 touchdowns.

Martin was fifth nationally with 140 tackles and 20th with 16 tackles for loss while adding six sacks, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble in 2023. There have not been any reports that linked either Gordon or Martin to Miami as transfers during the 2024 offseason.

This was the latest unproven accusation against Miami in the transfer portal and NIL. Others have included the Ohio University basketball coach saying Miami bought their 2023 Final Four team and the CBS Sports College Football Cover 3 podcast wondering if the Hurricanes football team has a $20 million NIL payroll.

""I wouldn't root for Miami if they were playing the Kremlin...That's the most tampering, cheating institution out there in the NIL era.""

Robert Allen, Ok St sideline reporter

Allen has no connection to the Miami football program other than covering the 2020 Cheez-it Bowl win by Oklahoma State over the Hurricanes. Allen is an experienced media personality in Oklahoma who has been the sideline reporter for the Cowboys since 2002 and runs his own website.

Miami signed the 10th-ranked 2024 transfer class per 247Sports. Houston wide receiver Sam Brown is the only one of the 14 2024 Miami transfers from the Big XII and who played against Oklahoma State in 2023. Brown had three receptions for 39 yards in a 43-30 Oklahoma State win over Houston last season.

Miami signed RB Damien Martinez from Oregon State who was considered one of the best transfers at his position in the 2024 portal. Linebacker Jaylin Alderman also transferred to Miami from Louisville. Alderman and Martinez provide Miami with productive players at Gordon's and Martin's positions.
